The Sinn U1 has been very popular, notably in Singapore with retailer The Hour Glass commissioning several exclusive limited editions, of which several forum members own (I own the U1 Tempus, shown below).

The latest diver's watch from Sinn is the 47 mm Ultimate U. Like the rest of the U series it is made from submarine steel and features a Tegiment hardened bezel.

It is exclusive to The Hour Glass and only 200 will be made.

I have two SINN watches, a 244 and UX.  Both accurate, well built and in today's world a bargain.

Good photos and article.

I love it, as I love the former version.

It is a simple, strong and without pretention watch.

although the perspective doesn't show the difference very well, it is noticeably larger than the original, though not extremely large. The new crown is enormous so the watch still retains good proportions although the date is a bit small.

the U1 and the Ultimate U both fit.

the strap is from another series of Sinn watches. interestingly I bought that exact strap about 2 years ago to fit on my original U1.
Its also waterproof and can be dunked into water with ease (tho it does not dry out as fast as the rubber strap).

it may just be my state of mind these days.... but it all seems so SILLY! I am more interested in watches that become collectors' items because of a 'cult' that forms around them over the years. These watches created 'to be' collectors items sort of reveal 'their hand', and I find them sort of laughable. Also, after some years of collecting, a diver is a diver is a diver. get one or two good ones (Rolex, whatever) and get on with the not-ever-diving already.

I agree on the LE and pushing of the 'collector' status.

The angle I come from is not buying any more divers UNLESS I can dive with them. Vintage only, too...

I really like Sinn products. I have a thing for the U2 in particular.

I did see that they mentioned the 212 (not sure what's scarier being in a fuel cell sub or a nuclear powered sub!) in relation to the case material, but the rest of the press release just calls it "a submarine". That's all.

It's just too bad that at 47mm, the watch is just too big for my relatively slim wrists though
