Horological Meandering

we've seen tons of mens watches, wristshots, our members ...

but not many of our wifes / girlfriends.

So, if she dares, take a picture with her and her watch

 

I started with the dog but some of the pictures showed my GF and her watch. First time that she gave me the permission to post them

Believe it or not, she "forced" me to get a sapphire back for her watch



It is not here only watch, but the one she loves the most. Gets a lot of wristtime.

Here are her watches.  The Cartier is just back from its service so it looks like new again!  It gets most of the heavy wear and tear since she wears it to work.  The other picture is her rose gold and SS Datejust.   I'll have to show her some of the photos that have been posted, since she has always liked the Reverso.

The first one is the exception because we have a matching pair.  Had to buy one of my own, a year later, because she would not lend the first one to me enough times.......

We have 2 pieces from the 25-piece Limited Edition:-   mwahaha!

This Reverso has hardly left my wife’s wrist, despite me trying to tempt her with other watches. She is very loyal and, lucky for me, seems to be one who mates for life.

A great idea Bruno.... but last night I heard my wife scream out from another room ... Ohhh NnnnOOO my watch. At first I thought someone had stolen it... but not so bad... sadly though she must have knocked it and the crystal is cracked. So it went to the Rolex Hospital today for a service and new crystal. So sorry to show it in such sad shape. Kindest regards, Jack

Hi Andrew,

It was due for a service... but that was an interesting article you referred to re crystal failures.

I asked my wife if she could remember bumping the watch and she said that she did bump it on a granite bench, but that was about a week before.

Anyway..... we are in an unusual indulgence... when the crystal is more expensive than a car windscreen.

I must count the dots when it comes back and look for the 'S'

It is small, but so perfect.   And these grandmother's eyes can read the time without aid.    It was my first real watch purchase, in memory of my mother who never would spend  on herself and had her teeny weeny Elgin repaired over and over again for fifty years.
