Looking for something for my wife which can then be handed down to my daughter. Some of the criteria include:
1. Mechanical. This seems hard to find as many ladies wacthes seem to be quartz.
2. In house movement would be nice.
3. A tad on the dressy side but not so much that it can only be used for black tie events.
4. Not too heavy on diamonds but some would be ok.
Thanks.
.
Is the manual movement for this in-house?
So elegant, comfortable and useful (dressy vs. more casual).
Great picture!
John

The GO Star collection White Cystal, AP Millenary Hours & Minutes or the Jacquet Droz Paris 1785 La Fleur De Cerisier. The JLC Master Twinkling Diamonds is nice but I think that's way outta my league unfortunately.
Will have to do a check about the movements for AP and JD though. Are their movements in-house? (I'm a guy
Do keep the ideas coming though.
A question as well on satin straps please. I don;t think these last too long given the surface materials? Is it leather wrapped in satin?
Thanks.

For all the suggestions. Please keep them coming.
As for the Panerai, will give that a miss. Just doesn;t do anything for me at all. Just me though.
All my love to Reine de Nalples
1. Mechanical. Breguet -- only mechanics
2. In house movement -- Lemania automatic calibre
3. A tad on the dressy side but not so much that it can only be used for black tie events. For lady -- to any accasion (not for tenniss or mountains
)
4. Not too heavy on diamonds but some would be ok. Always on Your choice
from my side
5. Excellent elaborated MOP dial
6. Great tradition and value
7. Contrary to previous -- reasonable price copmared to jewellery pieces from other companies
8. Last and the best -- best for modern ladies watches original heartbracing view
Cheers
Alexey
I not quite sure this shape is right for my wife. Pity as the pricing is right and has most of what I am looking for.
Purely from an aesthetics point of view, I've also now shortlisted the GP Cat's Eye and Cat's Eye Bi-retro as well.
A GP lady chrono will be an excellent choice.
Won't mind giving her a Roger Dubuis easy diver if she can take it.
Maybe a blancpain fifty fathoms white version is good.
What size do you think she will favor? The suggestions come in quite a range of sizes, from the fabulous and large GP to the elegant and small Lange Arkade.
I have to confess that I went to my dealer with cash in hand to buy the GP Cat's Eye and I did not care for it at all when I tried it on. I ended up purchasing a Blancpain triple date moonphase (not the current model), with MOP dial and a great automatic movement and a 100 hr power reserve. I suggest you look at all of the current Blancpain ladies models - you might see something you really like.

with the wife. Looked at the blancpain, GP cat's eye, JD Le fleur, Nardin, AP millenary. Of all those, shortlisted the JD and the AP and then the Manager pulled out the Jaeger Master Twinkling Diamonds! Beautiful, unique, formal yet casual enough, in-house movement and from a established enough manufature worthy of leaving it in the care of my daughter when the time comes.
So the Twinkling diamonds leads the pack now but there's some time yet so let's see if something else comes up.
