Thanks JX for the update of the black U2. Looks like Sinn is finally ramping up its supply of the much demanded U series watches and the black U2 will sit well with a lot of fans - if it was priced right.  For their sake, I hope Sinn will resist the temptation that has gripped many brands and will not price themselves out of the market. There are some who already feel that has happened with the U1000 chrono.

just visited the [no dealer references please] website. they are taking orders for the u2s at us$3160, delivery date for the first batch around june08.

compared to the normal u2, the u2s is priced much higher. one possible reason could be that this new u2s feature a tegimented bezel,case, crown and case back. The previous standard u1 and u2 only feature a tegimented bezel, not the complete watch.

The prices of u series watches have been revised upward recently. I also understand that the soon-to-be-released u1 all black (stealth) by the hour glass (singapore) is priced at the region of low 4k singapore$.

I agree with harry on the pricing. Sinn is a good tool watch, but hope that the management will price the u series reasonably (normal edition or limited edition) within the serious buyers' budget.

Even If I prefer the U1 Black for tempus, this one too is very interesting.
Yep, I'm one of those who follows since quite one year what Sinn launches, as I discovered them very lately.
But wow, this is a nice one.

I had previously placed my order for a U2 black as with the U1000 (not black for now).  So I hope to share some live pix of the U2 all black when she shows up.

The Euro/Dollar pressure is really what they are adjusting prices for as I think the Sinn management continues to price reasonably.  When you hold back prices for a few years and the the exchange rates are not favorable you need to protect your margins.

American Dollars to 1 EUR (invert,data)

120 days latest (Apr 18) 1.5742 lowest (Dec 19) 1.4344 highest (Apr 16) 1.5978

Just looking at this chart over the last 120 days we are looking at a 10% increase.  If we go back to 2005/06 we were at about $1.10 - $1.20 so you can easily see the justification.  All the parts and costs are Euro based and the Overseas markets are important but not at the cost of not making money.  No profits means no new developments and innovations.
