Not that I have anything against Quartz watches
I think there is something about mechanical watches regardless of their price point that set them apart.
If you want accuracy as may have said in this forum quartz is the way to go. But if you get a thrill from knowing that your watch is not run by a battery but something all together mechanical I think you set your self apart to enjoy everything that is mechanical horology.
Most people probably don't even know how a mechanical watch really works (present company included) other that you wind it up and the watch works via a bunch of cogs and wheels.
So you will probably not find much in the way of quartz around here. Maybe a quartz section will be developed for those that enjoy all the marvels that quartz provides because I have seen some pretty cool things out there but heart is still in the mechanical movement world.

Perhaps it is just a personal opinion but I prefer my quartz watches to look "electronic" with an LCD display .
I can guess that the only reason why the Minute Machine was created as a quartz model is due to cost. Otherwise a chronograph, a time function, and a big date display could all be accomplished with a mechanical movement.
