Neither of these two watches attracts the limelight. And yet... there's somuch to love about them...
Glashütte Original Sixties in rose gold, ref. 1-39-52-01-01-04 - Domedsilver galvanized dial - Case size: 39 x 9.4 mm - Automatic caliber 39-52, 21-carat gold oscillation weight, 40h power reserve.
Blancpain Villeret Quantième Complet Demi-Savonnette in rosegold, ref. 6664 3642 55B - Stamped flinqué opaline dial - Case size: 40 x 11.75 mm - Automatic caliber 6654.4, 72h power reserve
Of course, a fewdetailsaren't to my taste (the automatic movement, the signed counterweight of the Villeret seconds hand, the stamped dial instead of a guilloché one, etc.).
But aesthetically, I really like the style of each one.
I’m not in the market for either, but I think the Sixties is a wonderful proposition. I like this version and the price makes sense. It does a little less with the BP, imo.
And the GO makes more sense as far a price is concerned. And I like the 60s design very much in this particular very classic rose gold/silver dial version. Best, Emmanuel
And my choice is actually the blancpain. Of course, my heart can't accept stamped guilloche for craft pieces. But the officer style caseback, the decoration of the rotor and the case design is something I appreciate. In fact, just a week ago there was a good 30 min talk interview on Subdial, hosted by Justin Hart on the history of Villaret series. Worth while to catch...
Lovely pictures Emmanuel... Tq as always Rishikesan
for the Villeret, Rishi. I find it very nice too, but, even if I usually dont take prices into account, here I must say that I find the watch a little overpriced. From this standpoint, the GO makes more sense (and I like the 60s vibe). Best, Emmanuel
