I've become increasingly interested in design-centric watches, and recently added this little curiosity by Pierre Cardin to my collection. Jaeger Paris was involved, although no one is really sure how... Some pics and wishing you all a relaxing weekend
Very cool. I have some vintage Pierre Cardin table lamps that would be perfect compliments to this watch, or vice versa.

I also visited an exhibition last fall at the M+ in Hong Kong which featured Madame Song who was perhaps the preeminent fashion influencer in mainland China (also an artist, entrepreneur, restaurateur) and whom brought western couture and specifically Pierre Cardin to the mainland. Cardin was the first on the ground and THE name at the time. Of course Chanel and others followed soon.
In the context of Cardin it was crazy to think of where the brand was (the peak) and them being first movement in that Chinese market.

It was also a great reminder, in the context of fashion and consumer goods, of how fast China has changed. I knew this of course, but the exhibition highlighted that Chanel for example only opened their first boutique on the mainland in 1999. 1999. Seems crazy.
