1972 Royal Oak - Gerald Genta
1976 Nautilus Gerald Genta

If… in 1982 that same Genta would have designed this Ebel chronograph spot with wave bracelet…. Every collector woud adore it, want one and it would be 10-20 times more expensive
That’s how stupid we are 😉

The unwanted brands

An impressive plea for Ebel Bruno.

I never thought where Ebel was owned by.
I never thought it was such a beloved brand.

If Ebel are treasures, you found the treasure.
I have my doubts if Ebel gets here a dedicated forum section, but many interesting watch brands have no dedicated forum section while they deserve it.
Mister money rules, so the sensitive sheep want to show off their overpriced stainless steel Genta stuff. But i am a huge fan of Geralds designs outside of what others think and say.
Lets hope Movado sell Ebel to a serious buyer that can give it a boost.
Movado, jaks, what a disgusting name.

Ebel was top quality. One has to pay a lot to get similar quality these days. In my care for almost 35 years. The Modulor came to me in ´97 Keepers.... grtz, Dom

Thanks for posting this excellent reportage on Ebel which was at the top of the sports watches brands in those days. Three original Ebel chronographs from these days are none too much. if one can still find one in good condition it is an opportunity not too be missed. The enamal Voyager is quite something but as you said kind of financial unobtainium at the time of release. Congratulations on this beautiful Ebel line-up. A pity that especially under Movado they completely messed it up and destroyed Ebel’s brand equity and quality.
