I’ve been eyeing this piece for a while now. However, I’m not the biggest fan of NATO straps. Last week, I finally decided to “pull the trigger” with a coordinated approach - the watch and a strap:

How about the winding feel at the crown? The one I tried on seemed particularly soft (flimsy?). Can you tell us about your experience on that front?

Regarding the crown . . .
I have read comments stating the crown was too big or flimsy. But, in my very short experience with winding the crown, I haven’t really noticed any issues.
My concern is the lug to lug length, especially since I plan to wear it with leather and canvas straps. I’m not too fond of the gap. I’m considering a custom strap and requesting the hole for the pins be moved 2 - 3 mm from the edge to minimize the gap. But, that probably won’t work once it is on the wrist.😟

Not sure how a custom strap could sort this out: it was clearly designed with a Nato in mind

Good decision to change from Nato to strap;much better looking IMO.
I am with you here, i only use single pass ( zulu ) or nasa straps if i have to on a military design watch. And prefer leather over nylon. Good combo with that leather strap ! [nt]
