Last weekend I took delivery of this spectacular piece. 4months in the making, the Watchmakers Regulator is sublime. So excited have this finally. It’s calming, watching the pendulum swing once a second, with the seconds Jumping, it gives one a sense of a steady heart beat. Precise beyond my imagination, I couldn’t be more happier. Huge Thank you to David for the installation and setting up.
Looks fantastic on the wall. I have an antique mantle clock and have been wanting a wall clock for another room in the house but my better half torpedoed that idea.
as said before by Alkiro, it is a pity we don’t talk more often about clocks. Now,there are clocks and clocks.... What a wonderful piece you have! Also like the your choice of case very much.
I just recently saw the H101 from Haldimann, what a clock, would say in the same league as David’s clocks. If there was not the small detail of the price tag.
But this clock is a completely different league for me. Like Haldimann I mentioned in my response. That doesn’t mean the ones you mentioned are not good, they also have very nice clocks but already the entry point is different. Also the craft going into these piece is different. I’ll quite interested to see Tim’s reaction but that has been my conclusion from experience and from following these top builders over the years. Br, Dirk
Not hijacking anything, and the Sattler clocks are quite lovely as are Matthias Naeschke's. There is big difference between what David and Matthias do compared to Sattler, and in fact David is alone creating his pieces, other than the cases (a different field of expertise) The artisan clockmaker is what I'm after, as opposed to a rather more industrial/serial production effort by many skilled craftsmen & craftswomen in a Sattler type of product. David happens to be here in CA, and after meeting him and seeing his workshop in person, knew that I wanted to support him and when he proposed the Watchmakers Regulator, I was smitten ;-) Getting to have input on several details of the dial and case, made it that much more personal and compelling. To top it off, having the clockmaker install it, was the cheery on the cake! Cheers, Tim
Thank you Tim and the HSNY watch class that was held here last weekend and especially for the Saturday evening which was great, thepurists very own Cazela was ther etoo.
As much as I love watches, I've always had a hankering for a precision clock by a master clockmaker like David. Marco Lang used to make them for the domestic market in Germany, but when I asked if he could get one to the US, he replied it's not possible as they have to be set up and installed typically in a basement against a wall in order to keep the motion of a home to a minimum! So this has been an exciting project to realize. I love the result!!! Cheers, Tim
"It's calming, watching the pendulum swing..." I have an old and not very expensive 'Hibino' that chimes the hour and the half... I love the hearing the rhythm and wake up if it stops for any reason... Enjoy
