By: DonCorson : January 1st, 2017-12:33
Starting the year with something special.
David Walter has finished the smallest true carriage clock movement ever made. A true carriage clock is one with 2 plates, 4 pillars and a platform escapement on top. The dial is engine turned .925 Silver. By special request the owner's initials are in the map of Australia on the dial
The movement is 19mm wide x 25mm high. The minute hand is 7,50mm long.
will be making his own case in Silver, the case design and style has not yet been decided. No, it was not easy to make at all, much of the layout was quite problemmatic.
Pity there seem to be so few like him, doing such good work on traditionally made fine clocks, a field the world somehow forgot a century ago, or perhaps even earlier.
