Gérald Genta Geneva Minute Repeater
The Gérald Genta Geneva Minute Repeater features the brand's second caliber since the relaunch under the helm of LVMH and La Fabrique du Temps.
The Yellow gold 3N case measures 40 mm and the dial is made of black onyx with yellow gold 3N applied indexes.
Designed by Michel Navas and Enrico Barbasini, caliber GG-002 beats at 3 Hz and has 80h of power reserve.
The case features two singular, fixed lugs extending out from the vertical center of the case.
The case's thickness is 9.6 mm.
The caliber features a wonderful bar-click mechanism, which is designed for the tactile experience of winding the watch.
Very refined needle hands and a nice font for the numerals.
Lovely case profile with a recessed brushed center part. And onyx cabochon on the crown.
The centrifugal governor is shaped in an octagonal shape in honor of Genta's favorite form.

And, as you will hear in this review, this minute repeater doesn't sound bad at all, even if it's not the best I've heard.

I love it!
I would say my favourite Genta of all time actually. But quite unaffordable unfortunately. The simplicty of the dial, the beautiful lugs that make 40mm wearable and the superbly finished movement ticks all the boxes.
The manual wind ones, yes. But, unfortunately, Patek has been doing a lot of self winding minute repeaters.

Nice size and thinness. I think the lugs work for the shape of the case. As far as the repeater goes the lower hour tone sounds really nice, but the higher tone sounds a little tinny. As has been said I’m sure it has to be heard live to really evaluate. T...

I don’t like it at all
Imo, the Daniel Roth ressurection and this just feel like LVMH trying to jump on the independent bang wagon after many years of neglecting IP they owned.
Interesting point of view, even if I don't share it.
I personally like the work of Barbasini and Navas and I think they've done a nice job with Daniel Roth and this piece. But it's just my feeling of course. Best, Emmanuel

Apart from the single lugs. I understand the purpose but with my proclivity to changing straps this would be a hindrance. But I am currently not in the market 🤷🏻♂️😊
