Cpt Scarlet, a respected Cartier Moderator, offers an insightful look at the Pasha de Cartier Skeleton ADLC. His review delves into the design nuances and technical specifications of this contemporary reference, inviting the WatchProSite community to discuss its place within Cartier's horological legacy. This article explores the community's diverse perspectives on Cartier's modern direction and the enduring 'Genta Effect' on the Pasha line.

The Pasha de Cartier appeared in the the Cartier watch collection in 1985. The inspiration for the model was supposedly a watch made in around 1932 for the Pasha de Marrakech, however this is disputed.
Gerald Genta has been credited with reviving the Pasha in the 1980s taking inspiration from its original design details.

Now we have the Pasha de Cartier Skeleton ADLC. The skeleton dial that emits an impressive blue glow treatment. The case is made from stainless steel and has a black brushed ADLC bezel that gives this model a contemporary and elegant style.

The skeleton dial, with its signature four oversized Arabic numerals looks very good and emits an impressive blue glow, would have been perfect for night out at Studio 54 back in the day !

The case size is slightly deceptive at 41mm in diameter and 10.45mm in height as it features the Cartier classic design statement, sapphire cabochon tipped crown with the chain detail. Cartier’s sword-shaped hour and minute hands always look superb especially with this lume treatment.

This Cartier has the automatic calibre 9624MC, which is the skeletonised version of the 1904MC, the movement giving a power reserve of approximately 48 hours and beats at 28,800vph. Personally, I would have liked a longer power reserve as I switch watches frequently, but you can’t have everything.

The good news is that this piece is available as part of the Cartier standard collection.

What are your thoughts on this Cartier ?

Do you have some illustration of the historic piece that gave the inspiration? I have seen some faked picture of a "vintage" pasha, which never existed. I assume it could be a one-off model with some shared characteristics but I have never seen it. here is a previous thread on the topic www.watchprosite.com

This is precisely why I use the words supposedly and disputed. Looking at this version of the Pasha, what are your thoughts about it ?

Hello Cpt Scarlet, This is a very good looking watch and one I would buy if I were in the market for a Cartier (well, perhaps this and the yg Santos). The lume is a great touch and definitely adds to the watch's appeal. It reminds me of the Bvlgari Octo Roma tourbillon sapphire, a picture of which is over on the Bvlgari forum. Like you, I would prefer a longer power reserve, but it's not a deal breaker for me. Assuming this comes with a deployant clasp, then I would also prefer a re-designed sys

But for some reason, I don’t love the price 😜 Similar to some brands, I have a threshold to spend over certain amount, over which I will consider another brand. I will be very, very ok if they change the first digit from 2 to 1. Well, that only means it’s not for me 🤷🏻‍♂️?

I’m still having a few problems with Cpt Black. As for the the Cartier, I think it’s very cool.,
