Stepan Sarpaneva at BaselWorld 2012

This year Stepan is showing his new Korona K0 "sport".  In a titanium case with a typically Sarpaneva form this diving watch has an internal rotating bezel which is turned, unidrectionally, with the crown in its first position.
As always on Stepans watches there are many interesting details, take for example the second hand arrow which points inwards.Big and legible this watch also easily takes on evening activities with its baroque but refined forms.

.... So many details and diifferent look depending how the light is reflecting on the dial. - if one can call it a dial..

I once almost ordered a Sarpeneva, one of his very first designs. Then, all the way up to this watch, I kind of lost interest. This watch is extremely cool and really intriguing. I like what he's done with his name on the dial. The numerical layout is really stylish is the best possible sense--a new style emerging. The Diver-ish Rolex-ish elements are absorbed into the design becoming new here. WOW. I was totally not expecting to be so captivated by this watch. Credit must be paid to the incredible photos!

I love the K0 and especially the blue that Stepan uses.  For me this is the best watch in his range and a great size.

Quick correction, the case is Steel rather than Ti. I think the original Proto he showed 2 years ago, might have been Ti or at least the idea was to do it in Ti, however these are not Ti, rather stainless steel.
I love the blue dial elements, and although 46mm dia, it doesn't wear as a huge watch, at least that was my feeling when trying it on in Basel.

Quite an interesting piece, and I like the different variants.

Good "live" photos, as well -- tough to get good shots in the context of a show, but you always seem to get it just right.

...great new watch from Stepan ! I played with it at BW and I really really want to buy the steel version. Just need to scrape up the pennies and it'll be mine!
