Independents

Well, my aspirational watch has arrived! I no longer believe in grails because there is only supposed to be one yet, I seem to find one after another! But Roger Smith has always been an aspirational watch for me because of his story, his passion, his craft, and of course his watches. Well today, I have finally reached on of my personal goals in horology - I own a Series 2... an open dial version that houses his latest coaxial movement. It is absolutely breathtaking, glorious, incredible, mind-boggling, and just about every other superlative I could come up with... here are a few pics alongside a few independent pals and one intruder (albeit no less worthy)... enjoy and more will follow.

So hard to capture the colour of the hands, the depth of the dial (umm... open dial), and the quality of the engraving on the back... enjoy!

Any of these watches will do for me. You RS is all I will expect from an independent....

Hm, just an RS S2 Open.... no big deal... remain calm.... just an RS S2 Open....just an RS S2 Open....just an RS S2 Open....Legs wobbly, throat dry....Difficulty with rational thought...AHHH--maaaazing!!!!!! There is NOTHING here that does not belong! But if I HAD to eliminate one, it would be the Journe... I respect and admire Journe, but his designs just do not speak to me... (sometimes they whisper a little... ) If I had the choice, I would not eliminate any! I like that Journe the most of almost any of his creations... simple and very Purist with the LE aspect, makes it very much a keeper, presuming your question was rhetorical..Thank you.I will now faint.
