Hi all,
Recently had a chance to view this piece from a friend
Like to share a few photos with you guys. Truely a work of art, Maki-e art to be precise, by a Japanese Maki-e master....and this one is a symbol of longevity, TsuruKame (Crane and Turtle) unique to 1 piece only.
Note the 3 mother of pearl
Under different lighting....note the texture and detail on the body of the turtle and crane. Simply impressive.
We'd often seen skeleton dials, enamel dials, guilloche dials but very seldom do we see a Maki-e dial. I find this to be very unique and will be a great addition to any collectors' watch collection. It just instantly turn the watch into an artpiece imho. Great idea by Speake Marin
Thanks for looking.

Jacky
Thanks for sharing!
The Turtle&Crane does not house the new in house PSM movement. Thanks for the kind words

So you know about this range by PSM...not many appreciate Maki-e dials or perhaps not many have known about it since very very few watches have them as dial, in fact PSM is the first fine watch that i know of that has a Maki-e dial, apart from some LE Credor.
I do not know the exact reason to this unique 1/1 piece concept...perhaps its difficult to make or impossible to have the same exact motive on couple of different dials, it took at least 3 months to complete one dial of this. And maybe, for one-of-a-kind purpose, it actually creates some exclusivity to person who admires them. I'd always love turtles so this piece definitely have some special sentimental value for me. And Turtle and Crane are symbols of Longevity for many Asians. Some items are just not meant to be mass produce i guess...and i think this is one of it
Just my 2c of course. Thanks for looking
