well, 24 days in 2007 and i already got 2 pieces (Grande Lange 1 was the first)....i hope the trend won't continue...actually, i'm pretty much set right now....the latest one is just....errr....AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!
first the box...
inside, another box...but this one beautiful piece done in walnut(I believe)...
and inside...well, let me back up a little...one night in October last year, during a dinner with Peter Speake-Marin he mentioned that he just started to offer his Piccadilly watch in a 42mm case...i always loved the design of the Piccadilly, but at 38mm it was a tad too small for my wrist...of course when i heard about the new size, a grin appear on my face...immediately i started talking with Peter and made the plans for my piece...i ordered one right there and then!...after we came back from vacation, i wired the money...Peter told me that will take about 3-4 months to have it done...and today it arrived...
the box is very, very nice...
but the watch....oooh...beautifully polished case, cream enamel, black arabic numerals, blue hands, gorgeous big lugs, nice buckle, and one sexy back!
Peter said that I can have #4 or #5...i selected #8...my lucky number...
next to my PAM 64...
next to the Grnade Lange 1...
few more...i'm wearing it as i type and some of the pics came out blurry...i hope you understand that i was very, very nervous and also very, VERY happy that i got my dream watch!!!!
sorry for such a long post...and probably i don't make much sense, but the watch is fantastic!...from the hands of a true artist!!!...
Very good choice my friend. I nearly got one for myself too but other commitments just kept puching it away ;-) When I saw your 1st picture, I thought it was a TV ...hahaha.
Congratulations! As soon as I saw that big walnut box, I started to grin -- there's nothing quite like Peter's box (although when you are nervously opening your own for the first time, it seems that you need three hands to push the two buttons and lift the lid!).
And, of course, fantastic watch -- and the images are perfect. Finally, PSM's pieces are all the more special once you've met the man (and in my case, his better half). Modest to a fault, but at the same time passionate with a clear vision of what he is working to create.
and you're right...at the beginning, being nervous and all that i was wondering how to open that box...LOL....and i fully agree with you...not only Peter makes beautiful timepieces, but he is a very nice person as well...i'll be havving lunch with him in NYC this Sunday...and i can't wait to meet Daniela in the near future!!!
I like both of these watches. I've had my eyes on a Speake-Marine for quite some time. I love the highly polished S-M cases which have the feel of fine silk and I like the very bold hands and numerals. And the Lange....that's a great watch, too. I have an 1815 which I like, but I don't have much opportunity to wear.
Two new watches in 24 days......you're on a tear! What does Violeta have to say about this?
