Surprising indeed that they price this steel case iteration at the same level as gold ones but…

…it is a limited edition with just 15 examples if I don’t mistake …we all know at least one brand where the steel case Calatrava watches reach the same price as the gold versions …and we are not here to discuss prices anyhow so I prefer to stick to by comments about the beautiful dial
Price is marked up because businesses require margin. Really don’t see the need to pay up for Revolution edition watches. It doesn’t mean a thing to me. Rather buy direct from an AD or LF themselves.
LF would stop these collaborations on micro/special editions with blogs/media companies. In the long term it just erodes brand value. The occasional micro editions with retailers are tolerable, maybe even welcomed. But overdoing it just spoils it for me.
I agree that it spoils the excitement/interest in limited editions to do as many of them as LF does. On the other hand, I suspect that means that many of their regular pieces are just as rare as their limited editions!
but limited editions are all about artificial scarcity

How many of the LF regular pieces are there? We don't know! However many they've had room to produce, which is not very many. Those are relatively scarce, and their scarcity is 'natural', whereas limited editions are, always, "we are going to produce X number of these watches and no more, thus making them more special."
They let some customers and such get custom order pieces, which they then called "limited" even though they kind of weren't, but yea I don't feel like exclusivity is really a problem with this brand. It's not Voutilainen/RG/GF, but it's not like FPJ where they make 1000+ a year. My guess is there's something like 400-500 Classics, ditto for Classic Origins, perhaps less Squares, 100-150 tourbillons between the Grand Sport and Classic, <100 Travelers, <50 Annual Calendars, 100 Sport Autos.
may be "endeless appetite" is not accurate so a bit unfair

As far as I know they did around one per year with Revolution and I am not aware of many LE to make it "endeless". They still make a very limited number of watches per year so not sure why it would spoil the excitement.
