Price to quality ratio?
A genuine question. Those who think the pride to quality ratio is high, have you handled or seen the watch? I am really curious. I have two friends who have an Antarctique. One has an Overseas and Royal Oak whereas the other has an Overseas and Green Streamliner. They both put Antarctique on par, if not slightly better, as an overall package. So how is the price to quality ratio off?
Czapek’s movement is better finished than either entry level Royal Oak or Overseas. Dial aesthetics are personal but dial quality is right up there. Royal Oak has the better finished bracelet, maybe Overseas too. So as a package, Antarctique competes in the same category as Streamliner and old guards like the Royal Oak, Overseas, and Aquanaut.

you asked "have you handled or seen the watch?" I didn't because they have no AD here in...Switzerland. I am glad they are successful (I did admire the Fratello collaboration and a bit the Monocrome too) but I wasn't 100% sure because 1) you had to pay big deposit before with no idea about the watch 2) long delivery times 3) hype/sold out quickly online.
I am happy that they are successful but all the other brands you mention are available to be tried well before making a deposit. These are also well established manufacturers with long service guarantee etc.... all in all a good brand and model perhaps but all this advertising of "sold out" no more orders etc. is getting a bit tiring. Better discuss watches that are available for purchase for a change

Be good to try on, but I prefer the way Czapek are trying to manage expectations. It has always been the case that the ad takes down your details, and you hope and pray you get that call. Czapek took orders, so if you made that order, you are guaranteed to getting your watch. That doesn’t happen with the aforementioned brands. Unfortunately now, with so many orders, they have suspended this method of purchasing. Instead of continuing and not being able to guarantee adding pressure to the company, and making customers unhappy, it was the right thing to do..
