My Gelidus from Laine has arrived!! My unboxing pics to share with you.
I'll let the pics do most of the talking but I'd like to share with you a summary of what I love best about the watch:
- The frosted sides of the timepiece are often overlooked and not discussed much or shown often on Torsti's website, they are unique and matches well with the entire frosted / grainy look from the dial to the movement finishing.
- Loved the fume dial at first sight!
- The grainy blue dial done with such precision and with the roman numerals made it a nice contrast with the Arabic numerals fume dial that i have.
- The spiral finishing on the ratchet wheels are superb and a highlight for me for the movement as well as the red gold plating
- The casing design is well done and tightly integrated with the movement.
- Certain angles shows a nice black polish reflection on the screws
Overall, very pleased with the watch and I am thankful to have the opportunity to share this with the purists community.

I had the pleasure of seeing Tim Jackson's Laine not all that long ago, really really nice. Do you know if he would consider filling the hands with lume on request?

Agreed it’s very very nice. I reached out to Laine he said that if a client was serious he can fill lume in the center of the hands. I actually asked for a rendering of a solid hands during the process and it didn’t look as nice as the open syringe hands due to the circle layout of the dial and subdials. However filling the center with lume is a different style and it may work!

Can't agree more there are plenty of rehashed designs and vintage tribute formulas out there. And the customization process with Laine was pretty fun to make it to your preferences. [nt]

Nice to see other collectors who also have a Laine piece. I saw some of your older threads the other day on your Laine review and greatly appreciated them. Again, thanks for sharing, you have a really nice movement pic that shows the sharpness of the finishing on the daggers.
