Hi fellow Purists! Anyone else here noticed the announcement of a new Nemo Officer watch from the great independent watchmaker who made the first Triple Axis Tourbillon wristwatch, Thomas Prescher, just over a week ago? I think it's a very cool piece. Here are a couple of photos I've borrowed from his web site.
It utilises the same retrograde mechanism that's in his Tempusvivendi watches, but cased in the steam-punk Nemo style case. The hours and minutes hands are made to look like an Engine Order Telegraph on a ship, and a long seconds hand over a 30-second sector are design cues that make this watch stand out. It's quite attractively priced and comes standard with a closed back, but open case/back with rotor options are available, I've been told. Case size is 44mm but looks thin enough to wear well.
What do you think?
