Vacheron Constantin

...and a contributor to this forum (by the way, both make me equally proud!). I bought in the Geneva VC store a beautiful Quai de l'Ile Day, Date Power Reserve. I was torn between a Blancpain L-Evolution Alarm and this for a while (granted they are two very different watches, but they both have a very modern quality to them), but after seeing both in the metal, it was no contest... A quick hop to the bank, and voilà!, I'm one Vacheron Constantin richer and a big stack of Swiss bills poorer... but still a very happy camper. After much debate, the store let me change the straps from the shiny black croc (which, in my honest opinion, is not a good match for the Titanium) to beautiful grey croc straps. The effect is now a bit more subdued but, I think, much more elegant. I've included some pictures below, of a quality that does not honor either the watch or you, dear forum readers or contributors. I took them with my phone in a rush and with trembling hands. I will try to right this wrong with a real camera soon. Finally, I wish to sincerely thank all contributors to this forum that I have silently read over the past few weeks. You are a great bunch overall. A special and heartfelt thank you to Bill, whose wonderful review was key in making this decision (maybe I should send him a bill?)... Again, thank you all. David

Stunning watch! I especially like your wrist shot. Like you, I just got my first VC (3 days ago) and am absolutely loving it.

Pinkpanther, I guess they didn't like parting with a strap on a limited edition tantalum/palladium... Let's just say it took a bit of convincing... By the way, this LE was just beautiful. Tantalium is darker than titanium and is heavier than palladium. My only regret on my titanium is that it feels a bit light on the wrist...

with the economy being on the downside and with such an expensive watch the AD should,
in my opinion have been more cheerful...

I don't want to give the impression that they were anything less than professional and friendly, which they were. If I were to rate the overall purchasing experience, I would give them a very high grade. Being the flagship store of the brand probably means they have the most knowledgeable and friendly staff.

Welcome to the forum and to the community of Vacheron Constantin owners! I'm sure we are all looking forward to seeing more photos of your watch when you are able to present them.

I had never thought to put the gray strap of the tantalum QDI, which is like the grey of the SS/Ti Overseas, with the titanium QDI, but it makes perfect sense. I absolutely agree that the shiny black alligator strap is not the right choice for the titanium QDI.

As for sending me an invoice becasue my QDI article had an influence on your decision, how about I just agree to buy you a drink and raise a toast to Vacheron Constantin should we meet?
