I have a 2008 stainless steel Overseas which is kept on a winder when out of the safe. I have noticed that if I do not put it on the winder overnight it will stop within 12 hours. Anybody have any clues?
From a full wind until it stops, assuming it is still, the watch should have a power reserve of over 40 hours. What you describe could be that your watch is not holding a power reserve, but it could also not be winding efficiently on the winder, which I've seen happen before even though the watch is fine on the wrist. This movement usually tells you it needs service by also running slow. how is the timekeeping?
I had an interesting chat with a BHI fellow yesterday regarding automatics misbehaving. He said that any good automatic if left for weeks without being used will take a few days to regain its designed power reserve potential and will therefore keep stopping for a couple of days. This was a revelation to me and it certainly makes sense of the current conundri/ conundra ( ?). The Roadster is now doing better and I will wear the Overseas this week and see how it functions.
