I was chasing this one for a while...
As I mentioned in another forum, I've mostly been a lurker with a few questions here and there. Thank you to the moderators on this forum for their help and patience.
I first saw UN on the back cover of a sports car magazine. It was a black/rose gold UN Diver with the wave pattern on the dial. I thought it was so unique and interesting. That's when I started reading forums and websites. What is Ulysse Nardin and I wonder how much they cost? Oh wow, ok forget the gold one! A little more searching brought me to the Blue Surf. Love the blue color, love the wave dial, and it comes in steel...but it was still out of my budget. In the near future I bought a pre-owned UN MMC 43mm which was more in my budget. Loved it and cherished it for 2 years. During that time I became a huge fan of the company and their time pieces. I was one happy customer.
After a few years of enjoying the watch hobby, a few watches bought and sold, I still kept thinking about that beautiful blue dial. It was apparent...I needed that UN. I found one on the used market and finally pulled the trigger. I had to let go of my beloved Marine Chronometer to make it happen, but I am very happy to finally have this one. Some people aren't attracted to some of the UN designs, but I think this one is a future classic.
I've had it now for a few months, but never got a chance to share it with the forum. Here we go...

Congrats, I've had mine for almost 6 yrs now. Still my go to sports/weekend wearer!
Recently put it back on the rubber/Ti strap. Loving it and wearing it today.

I have both the strap and bracelet, but I have been afraid to cut the strap to my size. Which way do you like it better?
Both! Initially I wore it on the rubber/Ti strap as that is how it came.
Then a couple of years later I bought the steel bracelet for it. Then I wore that consistently for about 3 years and only last year put the rubber/Ti back on it.
I have to say I probably prefer the look of the bracelet, but it is very comfortable and lighter on the blue rubber, although a more casual look.
Try the rubber strap, you will enjoy wearing it!
