It looks like I am part of ...
that sensor trouble, but it is not verified yet. I know that there is something wrong on my sensor and I hope they can/will fix it as part of the current "good will program", but I am not sure.

about ten years ago...
IWC used a series of 100x35cm photos the Junkers Ju 52 and Spitfire to advertise their watches... I was lucky enough to get the series and three of them hung on my office wall for many years... now at home... The Junkers is certainly a classic and what a treat to ride in one... and over the Swiss mountains... Beautiful...
Good luck with the M9, hope it gets back to your hand quickly and in good condition...

It is still like this, but unfortunately quite a lot of things have changed. Good or bad, depends on your point of view. But the flight was gorgeous

a friend always tells me to go with the tangible...
I have flown over the Swiss Alps in a small plane, but to do it in a Ju52 must add to the already beautiful experience...
BTW, here's my connection with the company, taken a few years ago and on the wrist today... I also still have the lenses pictured here...

As a kid i remember a flight in a passenger plane with props from Antwerp to Amsterdam, i think it was KLM.
At the age of 15 i had the opportunity to go flying in a DC-3 Dakota ... THAT was an experience

Short term pain. Long term gain.
First of all, wonderful atmospheric photos Oliver.
Regarding the M9 sensor issue, I was caught up early in this problem. I noticed spots on my images and sent my M9 for sensor cleaning in August 2013 but was told I needed a new sensor which was replaced free and my camera was returned in February 2014.
I see this issue in a positive light. I am one of those who prefers the aesthetics of the CCD sensor over the CMOS sensor. Assuming the CCD sensor to be at the pinnacle of its development, it would be reasonable for Leica to no longer support this sensor, rendering the M9 obsolete. Instead, they are publicly continuing to support this camera/sensor and will replace the sensor free in any 3 year period for this issue. If you accept the concept of digital rot as espoused by Rockwell (one of the few points I agree with him on), in effect this is prolonging the life of your M9, for the foreseeable future - not many other cameras can have this claim, as they are continually being superseded.
Of course, this problem may also cause the sensor manufacturer to look at ways of updating the CCD sensor, and perhaps lead to further development of new Leica updated CCD sensor cameras, which would be a bonus for people like me.
If you are interested, Peter Prosophos (a name you may or may not know) has started an Open letter to Leica, calling for an updated CCD sensor to be installed in future Leica M’s. I’ve signed his letter.

Never tried the new one, but don´t miss that much and love the results I got so far - at least, most of the time.
It took them seven month to fix it? I seriously hope it will be quicker in my case, because I miss to handle/shoot my rangefinder
