Excellent pictures. The one with the crocodile piqued my interest…
…so I googled and found that it’s the official logo of Nimes. Seems that the image of a crocodile chained to a palm tree dates back to Roman times and was depicted on coins from that time. Very interesting place. Did you see any of the Roman constructions whilst you were there? Regards Kev.

Looks like an interesting place to explore. I was surprised with the references to crocos there! I had read some long time ago that nimes was the place...
... where light canvas type fabric was exported during the XIX Century to America to make the working pants for miners and cowboys.
The fabric was called in those times as "fabric De Nimes" (fabric from Nimes) and then it derived in "Denim" the other popular name blue jeans fabric is known today.
I would love to visit this place!
