The motion is there but It would have been more exaggerated it there where some figures or objects in the background. The uniform grass and street soften the motion.

The second shot (white car) seems to be the better of the two as you can almost read the text on the intake... it almost looks OOF (?). I guess I would try manual focus with a variety of apertures just to see if that made any difference. A good technique to have in the kit.

I used to do a lot of these with F1 and motorcycle GP 40 yrs ago and was loving it
I remember using a Minolta SRT 100b at that time with manual focus but also actual films and no digital. The challenge was to manage to get a reasonable ratio of good ones as I could not afford to put too many in the garbage as I was a student and the films were expensive. I wish I had kept some negatives so as to switch them to digital now but I stupidly did not 😢. Definitely a cool exercise to work on Joe and much harder than it looks as you say
