Would welcome your thoughts on the 410 LE seen a few pics recently and thinking about this piece as my next purchase

Agreed: Seek an olderl 410

I tend to agree with Nicolas on this count. The original caliber 410s actually surpass this re-issue in terms of dial and case appeal. There is a curious sterility to this dial that I never sensed in the old models, and I concur with the view that the double-star indexes look like a clumsy afterthought.
Either the older, pre-Nataf "Class 4" 410 or the Nataf-era Chronomaster T and Class El Primero with the 410 will offer all of the functionality that makes the 410 complete calendar El Primeros so appealing.
I also believe the smaller case sizes (40mm or less) do a better job of encasing the movement without leaving vacant expanses on the dial.
The Chronomaster T models are fairly unique in that they are El Primeros with chronometer certification. If you like gold, the yellow gold version of the Chrono T was available for a time with a white enamel dial, which makes for an extraordinarily unique El Primero when combined with the COSC certification. The Chrono T and the Class/Class 4s can be found in many different dials (e.g., guilloche or smooth, black, white, silver, brown, white enamel, Arabic or Roman numerals, etc.), so you have plenty to choose. Bracelet and strap options exist.
There are plenty of Class 4/Class/Chronomaster T if you are willing to search for a bit, and the market treats them like used - not "classic" - pieces, so prices are very reasonable.
As with all purchase decisions, buy what you love. If the 410 LE rocks your world, buy it and don't look back!

Should say gents this is not one of my pics just taken from some I was looking at on the net. I've been unable to actually handle this piece as it's boutique only ltd edition of 500. I have spoken to zenith to confirm availability but would really like to see and handle it before committing.

I would hold out
Since you may have to hold out to your visit for the Basel fair, best not to commit as yet, and wait to see what new treats we have in store from Zenith. I am sure getting a 410 will be no problem later on.
A fellow Purist was lucky enough to get number 1/500 (see Shing's post a few months back).
Personally, although I rarely criticise Zenith, this one seems a bit heavy for me dial side. Maybe it is the colours.
That said, I think the 410 would look dashing on a white NATO strap !

If only it hasn't the stars scattered around dial and hands I would have taken this watch as soon as available!
I'm guess: why weigh down the dial?
I would have liked only one star, the brand symbol, in the place where hundreds of thousands of stars have been applied... below twelve! Everything else is more...
Of course this is only my poor opinion... but written from the heart!
In my country Zenith always had a great affection by the people (apart a from a relatively short time in the recent past), so every year I hope to see something in the wake of the history of this great brand, those qualities which have made love Zenith to the general public.
