Zenith

Agree, get both

While the Striking 10th has the more interesting movement. The Red/Blue Primeros are so attractive. And they lack the dismal subdial overlap that plagues the Striking 10th and almost all other Zeniths. I wouldn't be able to decide between the Red or Blue. I've seen the Red live and it's awesome. The Blue one I haven't seen. Based on pics, I wish the blue color were a little darker.

. . . and thanks much for sharing, adawn - very kind of you.

I visited my local Zenith AD yesterday . . .

. . . where I finally got to try one on.  It's a very compelling iteration.

The Striking 1/10th . . .

 By: Dr No : April 18th, 2012-11:05
. . . was very close to becoming a part of my collection purely on the strength of its functional relevance.  The one purpose I have for a chrono is timing races, so read-out to a tenth of a second is actually useful.  The reason I gave greater weight to aesthetic over technical considerations is the relative lack of opportunity . . . in my neighborhood, there's only one road race worth attending.

If you can make actual use of the Striking 1/10th, it should be a prime consideration for your collection.

Cordially,

Art

Can only agree with you, Art! I love the elegance of the striking tenth

And the overlapping subdials are playing a big role in the character of the watch and its individuality.

Best regards

Luc

It's nice to see that at least one fellow Purist appreciates . . .

. . . the design of overlapping sub-dials!

Thanks for the kind words, Luc.

Most cordially,

You are welcome Art, I...

You are welcome Art,
I was also surprised to see the subdials so controversial, i fell in love immediately!

Best regards
Luc

why not this one

 By: Bruno.M1 : April 18th, 2012-12:35

this one is growing on  me ... only think i don't like very much is the overlap of the subdials ... the blue or red primero doesn't have the overlap

but the dial of this one is imo very attractive

I didn't like than one at all...

... But during Basel, we also went to Geneve. Here I spent one hour in the Zenith shop and it did really grow on me.
I believe the is a future classic

Hans

Like them both but I prefer the blue one.

AD's Red Stratos LE

 By: jnelson3097 : April 24th, 2012-13:05

Sorry for the crappy pic from a magazine, but I didn't get a wrist shot of this one that my AD had 30 of made.  I tried it on when I was there and it felt huge but still very comfortable.  It was on a black gator strap with red stitching.  The red accents on it were pretty cool.

Thanks for the pictures,

the red and the blue look great. Ive been aiming to buy a Striking 10th as it is an unusual movement. There are really any Zenith's i don't like from the current collection.

So confusing as i like the new Doublematic as well!!!

Four watches i love deciding which one to buy is a headache, still leaning toward the 10th though. I have loved it since it was released.
