I wish they'd not write anything other than the brand logo... especially when the model name is 'defy'. Sorry, but it's so goofy--why not call it Very Rebellious Watch, or Protester. Pls see my other Zenith comments so you know I really like and admire them. And yes, most watch names are --in the modern day--really silly-- 'anything-master' is really silly... as well... but certain brands... Rolex, etc... have established these silly names and for some unknown reason--it doesn't seem as silly on their dials.. or Omegas... but --perhaps unfairly--certain model names... can be subject to a mocking chuckle... DEEFYYYY--and maybe should not be so prominently written on an otherwise successful dial--maybe on the caseback... IMHO.
And it's an historic model moniker dating back to the 1970s. So "Defy" isn't some kind of modern marketing jive like "Offshore" or "Big Bang." The historic "Defy" models from over 40 years ago featured additional water resistance with screwed-in bezels, tougher seals, thicker crystals, and an additional buffer for shock resistance in some applications. It didn't seem strange or outlandish then, and many of those vintage watches featured strong geometric cases that we at least as aggressive as this. The Defy name still has its place on the dial of a Zenith watch, it's refreshing to see it paired with "Elite," too. Best, Tim
There's something about the modern day social media world, the transparency of markets, etc... that makes certain ideas/ names/ concepts feel extremely silly to me, somehow that certain of these ideas/brand or model names/ concepts/marketing feel 'exposed' and silly... but shrug... of course it's deeply historic.
Any info on what grade of titanium is used... are they planing to put the el primero chrono in 41 case... IO suppose they will be releasing different rings colors beside the blue on the skeleton version...
Servus Magnus, a couple of years ago Zenith had a new developed Elite Movement with Power reserve of 100 hours. I've seen this one in Basel (It may this year we met there). At official information from Zenith this year the power reserve of the Elite movement has only 50 hours. Do you have information about that? Is there an improvement of the Elite (if I'm right there was beside double power reserve also a thinner movement). What happend to the new Elite movement? Thanks & best regards stere
