I have always liked the 5124, but never quite well enough to buy one...although tempted.
After seeing the new Patek releases this year though, the 5124G with the BLUE dial quickly pushed me into pursuit mode. This image got stuck in my head:

So, after expressing my interest with my dealer here in Hong Kong about a week ago, I was pleased to get a call yesterday stating she had received the new piece.
I am quite excited about the look of this one as it is quite different than most of my other pieces. It has a silky smooth manual caliber neatly displayed behind the cambered sapphire back, and oh those sexy art deco case lines. At 33mm x 43mm I like the size also. The only thing that could be better would be platinum (in my opinion).
Complimented by a lovely blue alligator strap and the pin buckle, this one is a winner.
My quick shots...

To me, it is quite a different piece to add some flavor to the collection, and at a reasonable (for Patek) price.

Congratulations to your latest addition to your already stunning collection.
This shows that at entry level you can have all what defines a brand and makes a particular manufacturer so desirable.

regal, especially with the blue dial.
As soon as I saw it on Patek's new watches for Basel 2015, I liked it immediately.
Perhaps you could wear it to the Monday Hong Kong GTG with Thomas and show other PuristS.
Cheers,
Gordon
but I have another business commitment on Monday evening. Perhaps another time.
