yup, the Henry Graves super complication was just sold for 20.6 million CHF on sotheby's
still have to add  the fees and taxes  ….

looks like the last 1.5mm came down to two bidders slugging it out for that top bid!  

Real history seeing that magnificent timepiece being sold.

could be if the increase had to be 100K

but can tell it was exciting  .. even when  I was just sitting behind my Mac smile

opening was 9 mil and millions followed easy but when getting over 16 it took quite some time  …. and the last bids were thrilling …. even my GF sat right next to me biting her nails  … and she doesn't even care about watches   LOL

I am sure people who bought this pay no tax ... or just 2% ... :-)

We still don't know who bought the watch but it would not surprise us if it was the Patek museum.
That aside , in that case there was also another person interested for almost the same amount

But open today any important newspaper and you'll get a nice article in EVERY big newspaper  … this less than 24 hrs after the sale

An article about Patek philippe, about how good and special they are, about art, about collectibility, about rarity, about ….
That kind of publicity is just priceless

On behalf of the Stern family.. allegedly. He was the one holding up paddle #674. Hammered at 20.6 CHF but Sotheby's refused a bid of 20.65 CHF. Very interesting they took the underbid...
