I asked many and learned the hard truth how and why Patek doesn't make a simple and elegant Hand Wind piece with a center sweep no more and I thought my only alternative is the Richard Lange, a watch I very much would like get if the case is a tad smaller for a dresser.
For the longest time, my all time favourite 5050p eluded me, it's a center sweep, but it's an automatic, nevermind it's a PC.
I started to look at Patek Vintage peices, particularly the 27sc, perfect for me! But most have funny or concealed lugs, small cases (<35mm) and mostly in less than ideal aesthetic state. What do you expect of a Patek produced in the 60s/70s?
Until I came across this gem! You have to believe in fate, just when my WIS flame is fading away fast, it came calling! Wow, I'm falling in love all over again!
A oversized 36mm in prestine condition, a great running 27sc hand wind movement, and that beautiful center sweep! I didn't waste too much time before It became my 3rd Patek!
Its thin bezel actually worn bigger than its size, so slender and thin it just tucks itself snuggly under the sleeve, just like my 3940!
What do you think?
Enjoy
