what do you think of your 5165?

 

Would love to hear owner's thoughts and views on their watch as am thinking of buying one.

it wears comfortably, young and classic at the same time. I'd recommend the tropical strap as it is the soul of 5165/5167!

and offloaded it for a 5167 with a bracelet , since then i have purchased the rubber strap which i will use in the summer months and then resort back to the bracelet in winter. I believe the bigger size,improved dial and clasp make it a no brainer over the 5167. It really is understated and wears really comfortably on the wrist. i love it

ps , it also has an amazing lume at night as well

... the 5165A is recently discontinued so you might want to get one before its too late!  Correct me if im wrong prosite!

Have yoo get any confirmation ? Do you think it will get very hard to find a new one

When the piece is no longer on the Patek website it's usually a great indicator although not to say that you won't find at your local AD.

I know you love vintage Rolex so you need ... 5065 with patina

having had both on the wrist, my inclination is for the 5165.

 

Patrice, you are correct that vintage Rolex sings to me. But i also have a couple of modern Rolex too. I think the vintage element of Rolex is very much its history and story behind a watch. that doesn't seem as important to me on Patek. Not sure why not. On the wrist, the 5165 took it for me.

I like my 5165, but in my opinion it is a little bit too small. I would prefer the 5167 over the 5165, but it wears beautifully, can hardly feel it on the wrist. Very thin, subtle and elegant. Most of my friends say they would've thought it to be a 30$ swatch had I not said anything to them. I love that about it.

its quite an anonymous watch, which makes it perfect to wear casually.....pair of jeans, sweatshirt, 5165!

This is a very elegant casual watch fro,m patek. One that I would wear to a BBQ or even to swim.

It's an easy watch to live with - feels weightless. It's slim enough to fit under any cuff and, as seen on Thierry Stern's wrist, more than acceptable for wearing with formal business attire.

It has not disappointed at  alll. What i like about it is that it is such an unassuming watch, yet sporty and well-balanced and sits so comfortably. The tropical strap truly suits the style of the watch. I am extremely pleased with the watch. I also have to tip my hat to the Patek Salon in London. As always, Ed Butland was outstanding.

may i kindly ask the forum what is the main difference between the 5165 and the 5167? its sooo hard to find any of these 2 models in our ADs shelves. and why does other patek collectors dont like this particular model?

Who cares what somebody else may or may not like. Its been around for 10 years now and even has a flanker model this year.

5167 is my most comfortable watch ever.
