Patek Philippe

Just received news from my AD that my 5131 is coming into stock this month. Will post photos as soon as I collect it.

But I'm going to have to buy mine from another gent who is taking delivery to sell it.  Apparently there is only one person (a lady) who is rumored to does all the enamel work for Patek (watches and clocks) hence the wait.

One of the rarest Pateks and oh so beautifull, saw both of them in the Geneva Boutique.

They are very, VERY hard to get.

 

Are you guys talking about the J or G ? I would prefer the G but the J would be great too

I really hope I will get the same good news one day, I asked for one at my AD but I'm not sure if he'll get it. And if he does, I still don't know yet where to find the money   LOL

Although one of my acquaintances got delivery of the J last week from our mutual AD.  They're out there, more coming.  Will post photos if/when it all comes together in the coming wks.

that Patek would have made sure there are enough artisans to produce the enamel and hence make the watch more easily available. After-all, several other watch makers produce similar very good enamel dials and they don't seem to face such constraints. I was offered a 5130P in place of the 5131, but I think the 5131 is a better looking watch. 5130P should be be readily available. Is that right?

Yes the PP5130P is more readily available than the the above.But only just.  I went ahead to get it . No regrets.Went ahead for it because the centre dial remains me of the PP5070P but of course the the latter has got a darker blue than the PP5130P . One should go for the 5131 which is with out a doubt a dream Patek to own.Just my two cents worth.

I like the G in particular and wish this was an easier piece to obtain.  While the reasoning regarding a single lady executing the enamel makes sense in terms of limited number, I can only surmise that this is a conscious decision by Patek.  When I was looking at various JLC "secret" watches some months ago, there was reasonably wide variety of hand enameled art work replicas.  The interesting bit was that they estimated only a few month turn-around for a custom hand-enameled piece from a photograph or art work of your choice!  But an enameled Patek is special, especially given the history of such pieces from decades past.  Congratulations on your acquisitions in advance and all the best.

A WT is a marvellous watch, and when it comes with an enamel dial, it is just an exceptional watch.
