What's the best metal for this watch, RG or P ? Do you have some pictures of yours ?

No, the last orders are taken squite some time ago, secondhand is the only solution

that's up to you but for this one i would pick platinum, white, yellow, red (in this order)

in my opinion is one of the best patek ever made, I have 3, RG black dial, G white dial, and J white dial, for my the best is tge RG, white dial or black dial, to find a black dial with papers is abosuty hard hard, because very few watces have a modification doing in patek with a new garaty papers, in my case yes. I don,t have a platinium watch, but in my opinion it,s to heavy

is complicate to know the next watches, for the moment  a 5970P the next mouths, and for the next year probably a 1518 or 2499 depending of the prices evolution

I say RG is probably the best choice.

I find the 5004 platinum a little "insipid" for a so small watch (I prefer the 5970 in platinum for example, but 5970R is incredible, too !)

I saw a 5004P with black dial, but I find it's very difficult to read ! And 5004R should have the same problem.

So, I think that the 5004R with WHITE dial could be the best 5004 (perhaps not the rarest, but the nicest).

Do you agree ?

in my opinion the best 5004 is a RG with black dial, in my opinion the contrast betwen a red gold with a dark dial is fantastic, the white dial is also interesting but the dark is better. I liked to keep the white dial but the patek manufacture keep the original dial when they change officialy the dials.

i think the most attractive combo is platinum/black dial/arabic numerals. you cannot order new but some are still being made to meet previous orders; just from observing the market and second hand dealers and auctions it seems the rose/black dial is the rarest but to me there are too many colours with the white hands. happy hunting. a truly classic patek.

I too have three ref # 5004's and while the 5004P with black dial looks rare and elegant in pictures, in real life it can be difficult to read unless the quality of the light is quite good.'''' suprisingly the 5970P is much more readable,( I took delivery of mine from my local AD in early June)  given the larger diameter dial, the color of the moon in the moonphase and the white secondhand it is a much more practical timepiece ..

Probably because the 5970p is bigger.  I havee trouble reading my 5004p too, but I also have to squint a bit on the 3970 which is comparable case diameter
