the 5970 from the top three from the current patek offerings?

 

to me it is and i even think it takes first place

i think its the prep clndr plus it just looks so classic and so patek

 

what about you guys?

To me, my top 3 would be:

1/ 5102G ( Celestial )

2/ 5110P ( WorldTime )

3/ 5100 G ( Ten Days ) or, ex aequo, the 5070P ( Chrono ).

I could perfectly sum my PP collection to these 3 / 4....

If you count the other pieces manufactured by Patek (that are extremely hard to find and require approval before ownership is bestowed) such as the minute repeater complications, the complicated pocket watches, and other super rare (and not normally attainable) exceptional pieces; then I would not consider the 5970 a top 3.

However, I do have tremendous respect for the 5970; it is an instant classic, and this is the watch where I am fond of every single dial design in every single metal (except for the platinum with black dial, I'm not sure about that one yet because it's new and I haven't seen enough photos of it).

If you have the opportunity to acquire a 5970, you should seriously consider it! It's a beautiful watch, and a very significant watch to add to one's collection. One of the few non-in-house movement watches I really like.

but it is just a taste thing. When the day comes when i prefer a watch to the 5070P I will pray very very hard that it is not expensive!
