That cloisonné enamel world map is a work of art in itself. Each dial takes dozens of hours to create by hand. The 5131 is one of the most beautiful pieces Patek makes.

Let’s face it, we in this Patek section are a small group of relatively wealthy, hardworking and lucky men who own embarrassingly expensive toys. Sometimes out of boredom we nitpick each other on how to care for or wear our treasures. 99.9% of the world population (if they knew we existed) would likely consider us silly. 
Luckily we all understand each other! Occasionally it’s nice to put things in proper perspective and simply realize we pretty much have won in life to be able to acquire these pieces. Our job is to enjoy them - which often is the difficult part.
