Patek Philippe 5970P
I haven't worn this watch for a long time now. But now its starting to call. I have had its cousin on my wrist for a while, but now the PCC is starting to call louder. I feel a trip to London may be needed. I think this will be the watch I wear to go to Basel. There are a lot of comparisons on PCC across the range and over time. I like how Kari looks at PCCs.......there is no real need to have more than one. I agree with that. And for me, a platinum variant with a deep black dial, produced for less time than any Patek Philippe PCC, beautiful symmetry of the dial, Lemania movement.....yes, this ticks all the boxes for me. The very first "brand new" Patek Philppe that I bought....back in 2010.

I think it is my favorite PCC from Patek. The combination of black dial, platinum case and Lemania movement is a winner. Add some indisputable coolness. [nt]

Well, if money wasn't an issue, in the vintage Patek, I would have a World Time, a steel or platinum chrono sector dial, and a 3417. [nt]

debating between the different metals is tricky......
white metal/black dial combinations appeal to me aesthetically.
Each has his own preferences
I used to favor the combination you mention in general for all watches. To me it has changed. I often find the contrast is too stark in some of Patek and Lange black dials with white print. So more often I prefer the white dial version (in the case such a one exsists). BUT in this case I prefer it to the G. (So for me - to hell with the rules...!)
I did have the pleasure trying another one on and
it's simply perfection. The size convinced me over the 3970, which I do like a lot, bit the 5970 is overall better on the wrist.
I think they are both great watches......
......but i am with the 59 over the 39 for a number of reasons. The 5970 wears stunningly well on the wrist.

5970P is THE king, and I cannot see anything overtaking it anytime soon.
I have only worn the 5970R, so have had a chance to appreciate the proportions, dial layout of the 5970.
However PP reached perfection with the P.
As much as I love your 5370P, and the 5204P, the 5970 dial fills all spaces to perfection, and in this P version... well.... this is THE watch!
As you might be able to tell, I absolutely &%$£*& love the 5970P

.You can't beat perfection, so I believe this watch will still be 'current' in 20, 30, 40 years time!

......the 3448 has always been that for me. What has been a massive surprise has been the 5650G.
