PP worldtimer 5230
Good opportunity to see and try the new worldtimer 5230. Frankly speaking i was not stupefied by the release at Basel (1y ago). However being a WT fan (and lucky owner of a 5130G) i had to reconsider my1st opinion...
And what a blast !! this 5230 is supposed to be the successor of the 5130 . it is obviously a straight continuation of the WT's DNA but everything has changed (smoothly we are in Patek world guys). new case, no crown guard, shorter lugs, new dial, new size (deflated) , new hands but still the caliber 240.
On my way back to Paris i was ready to sell my 5130 and buy a 5230 but after a bit of thought this 5230 is supplementary to the 5130 same but different (might be difficult to find room for 2 WT in my collection...)
I find this to be the best version
5130 hands down for me
Second choice would be 5110.
The 5230 is too boxy imo.

In certain light conditions, it's more difficult to tell time maybe becoz of the grey dial.
for me....
5230...just a whisker behind the 5110
with 5130 coming in behind.
The 5230 comes with a great deal of flair, in my opinion, and i think captures the evolution of the WT very well.
But this is a subjective issue....
to me, the 5230 is better than 5130 on one thing only.
I like 5230 because it has no crown guard which makes it look more modern.
Whether you like the basket weave pattern better than sunburst is entirely up to you.
IMO The 5130 scissors hands is what makes 5130 equal if to certain extent better than 5230.
Both coexist together well.

Personally,
I think this is one of the best Pateks currently available bar the grand complications and the 5131R (world time enamelled dial - yes I know, you all knew this! 
). The basket weave has been spoken about a lot, the case design and the lugs are a work of art and the width at 38.5mm would arguably be suitable for more wrists (throughout the world) compared to the 5130. Yes the 5130 has nice hands but that basket weave is quite something. The ratio of the width and the thickness of the watch is also perfect and well balanced compared to say the 5930G which is on the thick side to accommodate the chronograph complication. Also the same 240Q movement has been used in the 5110, 5130 and 5230 so while the movement is of the same size, the watches differ by 2.5mm (5110 v 5130). I always believe that the movement looks more attractive when it fills up the case. The 215 movement is guilty of not doing so.
The 5110R is my favourite regular production world timer but the 5230G runs it close with its basket weave and case shape and lugs. It screams discreet elegance! And by the way, it looks lovely and the perfect fit on your wrist!

I had the chance to see this model with a friend at the same shop than you (it was probably the same watch). And I was really impressed by the work made on the dial which is particularly unveiled when you use a magnifying glass. A splendid timepiece!
