Patek has reference 5711 in brown strap as you said. I think you should order a custom strap as well if you really want that combination.
My suggestion for you is to take ref 5980. Since for my personal opinion, i think your choice don't really match with a leather strap. (It is only a matter of taste i guess)

So it is reff 5146 and not a ref 5711 right?
Nice one sir! Personally i would prefer this vs 5711. But it is depend on your daily use. If you want a multipurpose sport watch, i think 5711 is better for that 
This one could be a great addition in your collection as it is very different of your 5711 (shape, complication, style...)
Nevertheless, regarding an annual calendar complication, I prefer the Gondolo 5135 which offers a better readability to his owner IMHO. But the style is very different of course.
Whichever you choose, you cannot go wrong.

Wouldn't be on the top of my list
The bracelet is not my cup of tea and I find the month and day markers a bit too busy. I prefer the month and day in windows. It is still a very nice watch.
