This is my daily driver. 30 years old but still so very usable today. 5-cylinder 20V turbo engine, 230bhp, 6-speed manual, quattro, ABS etc. and recently returned 34mpg on a run to the UK NEC Classic Car Show where it was exhibited.

A wonderful car - and the generation that really started to show Audi’s seriousness in climbing to the German luxury triumvirate. Really like this era of Audi and they are much rarer nowadays - especially in the impeccable condition yours is 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I should also have pointed out that this car has 180,000 miles recorded. Full service history with caring owners helps of course.

We still have ‘the other’ 5 cylinder turbo petrol from the era at home, a 1995 Volvo 850T-5R. With around 250k miles, first owner 😁

Compared to your Audi the FWD is a bit of a drawback but the 5 cylinder still sounds fantastic after all these years 😁

The Cupra Formentor VZ5 and possibly a final run of the Golf R of the 8,5 gen might be the final ones of the kind 🤷🏻‍♂️

I forgot to add, maximum torque from 1950rpm, these things make a big difference in daily driving.

This was one of the few cars I dreamt of when it came to the market and still in my top 10 of all time !
Top speed 248 kph !
Everything about this car screams 'La Classe' !!!
Has it been refurbished ? The paint and condition on this one is amazing.

just 15K miles from new!

Back in the days my mechanic gave me lots of cars to try out, the ones I remember best are the Audi 5. cilinder 2.2 and 2.3. The 90 you see was a 20V if I'm not wrong .. hmm, could've been a 10V as well, can't remember.



Next was a 2.8 V6, a bit soft on the suspension as I remember, but also a green one.

Last two pics was an Audi 80 Avant S2 with the 230 hp engine. Initially we were going for a test with the 315 hp RS2 but some idiot before us decided to wreck it.

The color, the wheels ...

the paint has had remedial work in places (stone chips etc) but is largely factory. The colour is called Tropical Green (from the Audi 'Lifestyle' range at the time, very rare). The front seats I had restored (not re-trimmed and no new foam etc was required).

I had a feeling it was original but if you told me it isn't I would believe you as well.
