If Bim was ever to increase the geographical spread of his hot hatch collection eastwards, I could well imagine this entering his garage.

The Yaris GRMN (Gazoo Racing tuned by the Masters if Nürburgring) is a 400 pcs European limited edition and a lesser known effort predating the current - and very popular Yaris GR. It showed that Akio Toyoda was very serious about adding some fun to the lineup. An 1,8 liter supercharged engine, 212 hp, FWD with an LSD, a red line north of 7000 rpm and bespoke Sachs dampers were a statement of intent back in the day. And it came at a time when there was little else of note in the class.

Thanks for sharing that! I also only became aware of it while going through back issues of the Evo magazine and finding it. The current Yaris GR is relatively well known - this was a true surprise 😊👍🏻

My two 1st generation MR-2s also had engineering input from Lotus. I believe it was related to suspension design and tuning.

Wasn't there a 90's Peugeot 308 TV ad the with a slogan 'just don't call me baby'? It suits that GRMN for sure 
GR is possible my only hope to buy a contemporary sports car that won't ruin my budget and is great for the city, too... That is, if I wait couple years for a well preserved one.
Beside certain periods, I never was a petrol head, but that Toyota is truly tempting.
Recently I made a lose promise to self to drive at least once on Nurburgring in my life but my 1.4 TSI VW Sportsvan(or SV in UK) would barely bring the joy and thrill...
GR is possible my only hope to buy a contemporary sports car that won't ruin my budget and is great for the city, too... That is, if I wait couple years for a well preserved one.
