But the reality of driving one is not that much fun. Modern cars are so much more precise in terms of their controls.
The DB4/5/6 all have steering that wanders, brakes that require an early push to get them to work, and gearboxes that are often recalcitrant.
I might add that for all its beauty an E-Type Jaguar is also imprecise and sloppy by today’s standards.

I totally agree, but they are less asepticised than our modern cars, don't you think?

Agree that older cars have character and new cars are anodyne, having been refined much more over the development phase.
The only old car I have driven that I fell in love with was the 911 2.7RS. That had great road feel, a sense of lightness like a racing bike and a joy to drive even slowly.
The original Lotus Elan comes close and its “grandchild” the Lotus Elise is a good modern interpretation of road feel.
They make you feel alive.

I totally agree on the 2.7 RS and all the others you mentioned. The Super 7 is in this vein, as well as the Alpine A 110 which I both had the pleasure to drive. You feel the road, in a positive meaning.
