The Europe had a 1.5 borrowed from Renault but was also powered by the 1.6 twincam, a ford based with lotus head. The Elan only had the TC (except mine which had an Alfa Romeo engine, but that's a complete different story). Best. É. [nt]
I've had three Elises S1, one Elan, one Caterham, and all this car passion started with an old Austin Healey Sprite mk3! I am at a stage where I wonder whether I should go more toward luxury, power and long distance capacity (Porsche?), rather than noisy, smelly but with amazing handling. I'm still thinking about it. Best, É.
Nice dilemma! Personally, I would go for both. For example, my Volvo P 1800 doesn't have rust, so I avoid taking it when it rains. So I need a modern one, too. AND the pleasures are...
Admittedly, I still do, but instead of dreaming within Porsche's box of available cars, I now I dream about an electric Porsche one day, one that can drive itself, one that can take me on long road trips while I nap in the car.
