The best sounding V6 in the world. According to Jeremy Clarkson. Watched episode 7 of S3 of The Grand Tour yesterday and they all bought a classic Italian sports car.
Jeremy chose an Alfa Romeo GTV6. And which car ended up on the back of a roadside assistance truck? Yes indeed....the Alfa.
Nevertheless I would like to drive one, just to find out what all the fuss is about.

it’s a glorious engine and the car was reliable.
+1! here in Italy there's no such fame for unreliable Alfa Romeo cars... the pre-electronic models turn that is a marvel! [nt]

The 6 Cyl from Alfa... You have to hear it. It is an old engine, which was still in use in the GT 3.2 in the mid 2000's. A symphony. An engine with a lot of character.

My first Alfa. Sadly, like all Alfas of the period, it rusted quickly. Still, I enjoyed it, almost nonetheless. [nt]

Funny how those who hang out on my favorite watch site (this one!) also like Alfa Romeos. No one, except me, likes Alfas -- I thought ;-)
But should I consider trading my 18 year old 325i for a new Giulia Ti?
Not sure that will assist me when I'm stranded in the middle of nowhere

They are reliable when maintained properly, unfortunately many have not been. The issue is that they are a technically advanced cars for the price range. The GTV6 requires someone not just handy, but knowledgeable to properly maintain them. When set up correctly, the balance, handling and power delivery is sublime...and the sound from up front intoxicating. They do not attract the opposite sex like a Ferrari, but that is OK with this happily married owner. Now, seeing the smiles on the faces of car guys when you pull into a cars and coffee, and “accidentally” blip the throttle a little...priceless

The Bonnet was raised to fit the Plenum for the V6 into it.
For some reason ALFA decided to top this with the plastic detailing. Probably to match the large black bumpers
Had one years ago and it was great fun. Early ones had problems with head gasket failure (I did ours 3 times until a better design came out)
Engine is just so responsive. Everyone should try and drive a Busso V6 sometime in their life

Great cars, great name, need TLC constantly. The current generation really rock my boat!
also helps if you have a friendly mechanic and tow truck on call for the vintage ones.

But with the lighter 2 liters engine it’s more balanced and even quicker around corners 😎👍🏻
