This race is run in march every year in Mallorca. The cars that congregate are simply amazing. The ones I posted are a fraction of the starting field. I went to see the special stage running up the mountain from Sa Calobra. Since I shoot manual focus rangefinder, I had to be close to the road. Stopped down for depth of field since refocusing would be a nightmare and set the speed to about 1/30. Then it was just a matter of trying to keep it steady while panning. I can tell you for every good photo there were probably three or four that were shit. The slow shutter is simply to get motion blur in the background. An interesting result since I was standing on a bend, is that in some of the pictures only the "pivot points" of the cars are sharp. Makes for interesting pictures I think.
