Bulgari Contest!
Win a Double Watch Winder Valued at Over $100
Bulgari is a multi-faceted company with a broad array of products and now a growing portfolio of finely handcrafted timepieces. Their long standing history manages to celebrate elements that are classically beautiful and historically significant. Yet their vision is always far reaching. With every new release, they plant their roots deeper into high horologerie status. With balance, confidence, initiative and a fine tuned eye for upholding the beauty and strength of women, we can all find something to love about Bulgari.
I want to hear about what you like or admire the most about Bulgari and why.
Perhaps you are impressed with their use of historical motifs, like the comfort and design of their luxury resorts, find their spokesmodels sexy or absolutely love the sapphire layered dial on the Diagono X-Pro. Whatever it is, whether it is a small detail on a watch or a grand company mission statement, I invite you to share it and secure a chance to win a VERY nice automatic watch winder.

- Simply reply to this post with your response to the question, “What do you like or admire the most about Bulgari and why?”
- Contest will begin immediately and end Friday September 13th at midnight pacific time.
- I will select a winner from the responses submitted and announce the winner in the Bulgari forum.
- The winner will get this high quality watch winder perfect for holding two of your automatic watches.
Good Luck!!

Those are not in production anymore and today I have to wear it with my leather strap, because my folding clasp is broken. The latter is needed for the rubber strap.

The Bulgari design is distinctive, appealing, and fun to strap to your wrist. I feel of all the so-called "jewelry brands" such as Cartier, Chopard, and Piaget, Bulgari makes the most attractive watches that fit my personal taste and style. I like the attention to detail w/ their cases and appreciate the subtle contrast of their polished and brushed finishing which I feel gives their watches an extra sparkle to the eye.
Cheers,
Anthony

bulentvural93,
Welcome to our forum and hope you visit more.
BVLGARI seems popular in your country....at least by my observation of shops in the airport
Your comment: "pure horology" starts a different discussion.
In the past, clocks and watches were sold by your local jeweller as the manufacturers did not have their own boutiques. Most jewellers also bought movements and put them in their own watches and brands e.g. Bucherer, Tiffany, Cartier, etc.
In fact, most older "pure horology" brands started by supplying movements to jewellers or specialists watch assembliers who put their own brand name on.
Piaget made movements for 80+ years before they put their own name on watches in 1942. They added jewellery in the 1960s. Their movements are found in many famous brands.
Cartier made some of the earliest series production wristwatches for civilians; more than 100 years ago but using movements from specialists like LeCoultre and EWC.
Now, they also make their own 'haute horlogerie' movements.
Chopard started as a watchmaker in 1860 before adding jewellery in the 1960s after a jewellery family revived the company.
Bulgari has been making watches for more than 80 years and owned "pure" watch factories like Gerald Genta and Daniel Roth since 2000.
Today, Bulgari has the ability to make their own movements, case, bracelet and dials; which, is more than many "pure horology" brands.

bulentvural93,
Thanks for joining the contest and more importantly joining the discussion.
Please ask your other friends to share their opinion of Bulgari also in the contest. They only have to write a few sentences because the contest is not about the writing but about the heart.
We don't have that many writing. We get many reading from Turkey.
My sympathy about the Olympics bid.

It’s one thing having an illustrious tradition of your own, yet another to respect the traditions of others.
When Bulgari purchased and integrated the Gerald Genta and Daniel Roth brands, it exhibited not only a shrewd financial decision but also a show of respect to these two great designers and manufacturers. They may not have had the financial wherewithal to keep on going it alone, yet will now -thanks to Bulgari, continue to have an eternal presence in the eyes of watch aficionados.
The integration was elegantly executed with respect to those two manufactures and shows the world what Bulgari is all about - class and a commitment to maintaining the highest in horological standards and traditions.
... instead of a "U" in their name to relate that true Italian sensibility. I also am impressed by the brand's longevity. The BVLGARI "countdown" watch is the centerpiece of Steven Spielberg's epic motion picture, "Minority Report".
Based on Philip K. Dick's novella of the same name, Minority Report is steeped with cool futuristic gadgets - among them is John Anderton's (played by Tom Cruise) officially-issued BVLGARI "Time To Termination" watch, which looks a lot like a "Scuba".

[Editor's Note: BVLGARI is spelt with a Latin 'u' written as 'V' only when capitalised characters are called for]
[The pronounciation is still as a 'u'. This reflects the Bulgari family fascination with all things Roman]

for me the simple elegance of the watch along with the fact that it could be dresse up or down. The bracelet had a beautiful finish and gradual taper. The bezel had the signature BVLGARI/BVLGARI engraving and the movement was extremely accurate.
this is why my wife and myself like about bulgari.
as we are self-confessed fashion victims, we love everything Italian, the Italian designs exudes not only luxury, there is also an element of cheekiness, uniqueness and nonchalance, not just die-hard prim and proper luxury.
such elements are exhibited simply in their choice of concoction of their gold tone and designs like the very popular b.zero1 jewelry, their solitaire ring , corona, and their watches. Such pieces are unique yet display bulgari's forte in design thought-through, truly exhibiting their Italian design roots which we admire and love.
Guido Terreni, Umberto Macchi and Pascal Brandt of BVLGARI
I knew Bulgari before finding the PuristS website.
Like many people here, we have memories of Bulgari associated with birthdays, anniversaries, holidays and honeymoons. Our first trips to Rome and Milan involved pilgrimages to BVLGARI boutiques. Not quite like the late Elizabeth Taylor who only knew two Italian words and one of them was BVLGARI; but pretty close.
B-zero handbags were of Tardis-like capacities and and the Tubogas jewellery of mysterious construction. The current Mrs MTF still uses them.
BVLGARI 7-fold silk neckties are probably the best in the world especially matched with Bulgari tie clips and cufflinks.
BVLGARI Rettangolo watch was an iconic early entry in the MTF collection.
A pear-shaped diamond and a couple of eternity rings saved my marriage on three occasions.
The green tea and the other perfume variant (white and red teas) aromas filled our lives for a decade.
We can talk about Roman style and Italian flair but the main reason why the current Mrs MTF and I like Bulgari is the people.
People like Guido, Umberto and Pascal (see above), whom we consider friends.
Guido Terreni is passionate and knowledgeable about haute horlogerie.
People like the Bulgari New York saleslady who altered the size on a Tubogas ring in 36 hours [over a weekend] because I had to fly back to Japan.
People like the Bulgari Tokyo manageress who altered the ring size again for Mrs MTF because I got it wrong the first time!
Francesco Trapani: great grandson of BVLGARI founder
People who approved the world premiere of the BVLGARI Daniel Roth Grand Sonnerie Perpetual Calendar at the 2011 PuristS International Gathering of the Tribes in Las Vegas.
People who created the Bulgari X-Pro PuristS 10th edition to celebrate our 10th anniversary.
People who came to Las Vegas to celebrate being PuristS with us.
In summary, Bulgari is about PuristS' Heart: Passion Opinion and Information.

MTF
