. . . so let's start with the verdict that has already been delivered.  Richard tapped J's Nomos . . .

. . . for Wrist Scan.  This image captured my imagination as well, with the date set at 3 and the three hands arranged with angular symmetry.  A truly elegant watch, caught at just the right moment . . . little wonder Richard found favor with this one.

"Dear Art,

This week being judge for WOW (Watch of the Week) was much easier than I expected.  I elect watch that had the greatest WOW effect (and not only on me) .

I opt for Julian's 5105 - it sums up all that I consider elegant in watch world, and the number of zeros on check helped too .

I've been singing praises of the Omega central tourbillon for years, but if I had to pick a #2, it would be the 5105. 

Hopefully, Don is well, and will be issuing his edict soon. 

  

But an evident one... This PP is just mindblowing.

I know that you need couple of months rest....not in jail though....

Well it's my Dad who is into this Superbowl thing.
Except if the Giants are playing it is too much suspense for him to watch the game live.
He records it and only watches it if the Giants win!!!

As to the watches, it is hands down Nilo's Memovox for me.

I took this pic from my home office window and I was trying to capture not only the watch but the hot summer, that finally arrived here in full force.

Another point, that was my target with this picture was to demonstrate, to a dear friend that one does not need a supper camera to capture nice moments (he is a camera geek and is always trying to buy the latest and greatest camera gear).

In this case, the camera was my trusty Canon S90 a two years old model (Manual mode and, of course RAW).

Sometimes, simple is better.

I feel it reminds me of a Philip Dufour, let me explain why

 

1. Simple design

2. Platinum case

3. Great movement - not as well finished as any Dufour piece though

4. Movement is visible through case back and I can marvel at it  at any time

5. Limited numbers

6. Dial layout is very easy to read

 

So in my mind's eye I have a piece which completes my PP ref 9-90 collection ( although i am keeping n eye out for a PG ref 1593)  but is a really special and spectacular wearing piece.

But that movement is an old PP movement with a lot of charm and character. Agree it does not have those luscious deep geneva stripes and perfect anglage like on the Dufours.

I meant the geneva stripes are very deep on the Dufours compared to geneva stripes on this older movement.

Wonderful watch on the wrist, Julian, and well deserved honours this week.

I think I was a little surprised seeing an exhibition case back from the normally conservative Patek, and from the 1960's no less. Is that something uncharacteristic?

Don't get me wrong though - I love the view!
