My thanks to our judges, Daniel and Carl, and also to Horo, for kicking off with the coffee theme - this was an especially memorable session.

My favorites were Richard's [log-in: -RWK-] Steinhart . . .

. . . for the incandescent natural light captured in the image, and Meiwenti's JLC nestled in tea leaves . . .

. . . which edged out a very strong field from Anders, Fernando, Gary, and Matt.  I'd like to give a special mention to anzustudio . . .
 

. . . for crafting an image in which the patterns of the background - natural wood and leather grain, plus floral ceramic artwork - sympathetically overshadow the depicted objects.

My personal favorites were more thematic...jporos' coffee preparation and GaryG's dato/DS in coffee jug were my favorites. RJW' aka Richard's Sherlock Holmes Omega is deserves special mention as well, I humbly opine.

Art - shall we do something thematic once a month, whereby the judging criteria will take into account the theme for that week?

And I feel honoured to be chosen amongst a fantastic selection of photos. And thanks to Horo for selecting my favourite theme ! So it makes the masthead even more special to me.

Like many successful photos, this one had some unexpected elements: the stripes of the overhead awning reflected in the dial, the matching striped shirt and the slats of the table; the coffee coloured dial of the Octa RdM.

And the coffee tasted pretty good too!
